Peer-to-Peer Virtual Network
Network basics
Users and Nodes
Node is a computer. Nodes themselves are not addressable within Agily network.Agily P2P virtual network (VPN) uses IPv6 addressing. Every Agily user, logged into the particular node receives a permanent IPv6 address. Users and Nodes themselves have no addresses, only user@node combination receives an address (and given combination always gets the same address).
Groups
Users might be organized into groups. Every user may create as many groups as she wish, and user may be a member of any number of groups created by others. Every group might be addressed as a whole by the multicast IPv6 address.Applications
Use of the Agily P2P virtual network requires no special API calls and even doesn't require recompilation of the 3-rd party program. Nonetheless, some low level API calls are available to make 3-rd party programs more "P2P-aware" and/or include user/node/group management.
Typical applications which may benefit from the Agily virtual network include:
- Remote administration
- Remote desktop
- Direct file transfer
- Multiplayer games
